As of July 2026 there are exactly 30 Toyota Prados for sale on the entire island — out of 8,868 vehicles listed on Beego (that's counting the handful sellers list under the full "Land Cruiser Prado" name). Twenty-one of those 30 are in Kingston & St. Andrew. If you're shopping from anywhere else, you're probably driving to town for this one.

Scarcity like that does two things to a market: prices hold stubbornly, and buyers rush. This guide is here so you rush informed.

Prado money comes in three worlds

The 30 live listings split cleanly into three generations, and the price gaps between them are enormous:

• 2004–2009 (the 120 series): J$1.58M–J$1.85M. The entry ticket. A 2004 Prado in Kingston at J$1.58M is the cheapest Prado in Jamaica right now. Twenty-year-old truck, yes — but it's the generation that built the Prado's reputation, and at this money it undercuts plenty of ordinary sedans.

• 2016 and newer: typical range J$5.4M–J$14.75M, middle around J$8.9M. A 2017 at J$6.5M marks the floor of the modern truck; the ceiling right now is a 2025 new-shape Prado at J$16.2M with 10,000 km.

Dealer stock vs. private and import deals

Because supply is this thin, the same year Prado can be priced millions apart depending on who's selling. Dealer lots price for the buyer who needs the truck today; private sellers and fresh imports price to move. What to check on a used Prado

A Prado that lived in Kingston traffic is a different purchase from one that worked a farm in St. Elizabeth:

1. Underneath first. Frame and crossmember rust, skid plate dents, leaking shocks. These trucks get taken places.
2. Transfer case and 4WD engagement. Many town Prados have never left tarmac — which means seals dry out unused. Engage everything on the test drive.
3. Service history over mileage. A 200,000 km Prado with records beats an 80,000 km one without. This engine outlives its owners when it's fed.

If the Prado math doesn't work

You're not alone — most people who search Prado end up buying something else, because 30 trucks can't serve everybody. The honest alternatives: a 2016+ RAV4 (193 listed, mid-market around J$5.25M) does the school-run-and-status job for less, and holds value nearly as well.
